Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwich
With the flavor you get from Pilacca hot sauce on this sandwich, you might not even need that bowl of tomato soup!
Ingredients

1/2 cup good olive oil

1 large clove garlic, split to remove skin

8 slices crusty Italian bread

Pilacca hot sauce (to taste)

1 pound smoked fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced

8 basil leaves, torn

Prosciutto or Salami (optional (but not really optional))
Steps to Prep
- Heat a pan over medium low to medium heat.
- Heat oil and garlic in a small pot over low heat to make garlic oil.
- Brush 4 slices of the bread with garlic oil on 1 side, and spread Pilacca hot sauce on the other side.
- Place bread garlic oil side down on the pan. Top with sliced cheese, basil, and meat if you opted for it.
- Spread Pilacca hot sauce on 1 side of each remaining pieces of bread. Place on top of each sandwich.
- Brush sandwiches with garlic oil. Press sandwiches with heavy skillet or a brick covered with tin foil.
- Toast sandwiches on both sides to melt cheese.
- Enjoy!
